New Programs and Services:

Art & Crafts Experience: Come join us to lean beginning basket weaving.  Our own Carol McQuinn will instruct us in a simple project, a garlic basket, a decorative and useful project for your kitchen.  The rhythmic flow of the weaving process can be very relaxing.  No experience required. Limited to 5 students--- be sure to register early.  March 1 and 8, 10:15 to 11:15 and April 12 and 19, 10:15 to 11:15

Meditation

Explore the art of silence and meditation. You will learn breathing techniques to calm the mind and body that promote healing. Led by a registered nurse. Drop-in class Tuesday 2:15-3pm

Line Dancing

Kick up your heels to get your heart rate up in this fun class. Drop-in class precedes Strength Training. Thursdays from 12:40 to 1:00 pm

Healing Touch:

Healing Touch appointments are now offered on Thursday mornings as an alternative to therapeutic massage. Healing Touch is an energy therapy in which practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Guests remain fully clothed during this appointment. Appointments are 30 minutes and can be scheduled at the Center or by phoning the business office (815/395-5649).

Game Time:

Come join us on Tuesday afternoons this winter to play games with your friends.  Snacks will be provided.  We will play board games, social games and have a lot of fun.  Feel free to bring a friend and the game you like to play most!  From 3:00 pm to 4:30 at the center. (Sign up for the nutrition class and you can stay for supper).

Writing To Heal:

There will be a new session of Writing to Heal beginning March 6 to March 27 from 10:15 to 12:15 each Tuesday.  Discover your inner thoughts and learn to heal as you journal and discuss with fellow classmates.  This class is especially designed to help the cancer patient or survivor address many concerns that arise with a diagnosis or living with/beyond cancer.
